Once we’d caught up on sleep in a lovely little bed and warmed up properly again, An and Leon welcomed us with a big hug. Even though they’re just working hard during the day, of course we had to admire the car for a moment. That we’re completely smitten with the car should be clear by now. But being able to share that is always a joy. The enthusiasm with which An and Leon walked around the car was infectious, and it makes you realise all over again what a cool thing we’re actually doing.

When we got back up to the flat, Bodhi and I were straight away invited to go out on a date that evening. That choice was quickly made! While the working ones among us had to carry on, Bodhi and I went to a coffee place round the corner to keep going on our website. We wanted to dot a few more i’s before we shared it with family and friends. That evening we got to test right away whether our creation would go down well with our fans, and I dare say with certainty that it did! Later that evening I even “caught” Leon having another sneaky look at the site.

Since we weren’t busy covering distance, looking for a supermarket and a place to sleep, or cooking our food during the day, we had loads of time. So we’d come up with the idea of shooting a few little videos for the socials. An had recommended a nice spot nearby where we could film: Cala Llonga. When we’d almost arrived, we realised that if we wanted to film, we’d have to wash the car first. You guessed it… the car wash is next to the flat. Luckily it isn’t very far, but the fact that you have to drive straight back to where you came from is annoying. But anyway: back we went, car washed, and off towards Cala Llonga again. We’d found a nice off-road track we could drive up for a good view.

When we got to the top, we saw our “clean” car standing in the sun… it was anything but clean. It looked as if we’d sprayed wax on it and hadn’t rinsed it off. “But I really did use the last button. Didn’t I?” We started to have our doubts after all: maybe the Spanish buttons had made us pick the wrong one. “The way it looks now, we can’t show ourselves on video, so we have to go back.” So yes, off we went again. I’ll try not to go on about this for too long, but we did this little routine another 4 times… it just kept sticking. In the end we went over the whole car once more by hand, with water and a cloth, and only then was the problem solved. In the meantime our window of time had passed. Final score: a clean car, no videos.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left again, we were completely pampered and got to tag along with An and Leon’s days. Lovely dinners out where we chatted the whole evening away, movie night on the sofa, watching F1 with pizza, a wander round town, enjoying a beautiful sunset, and a little dance at the hippie market… a bit of everything, but above all a lot of good times. We enjoyed it enormously, and we’re really glad we got to see each other before we carried on with our trip. It does take some adjusting now that we have to look after ourselves again… but we’re really looking forward to that too!

Dus ja, daar gingen we weer.

¿No?”
