Venice

Bodhi and Tess smiling on the Rialto Bridge, with gondolas on the Grand Canal behind them

That morning I started by singing every birthday song I knew. It was the 7th of October, after all. Then we checked in at our leisure and got a nice spot on the campsite. We decided to take it easy for a bit, played a game and kicked a ball around on the beach. So good to be back here for a while, and to be able to show this place to Tess.

By now Tess had dressed up nicely. I made a feeble attempt at looking good too, as far as that was possible with the clothes I had packed. Since the car was standing there with the awning out, it seemed like a better idea to take the bus. A short half hour later we were on the boat to Venice.

With a nice pizza slice in our hands, I showed Tess Venice, as far as I still knew my way around. We had an espresso here, a drink there, and eventually ended up at a lovely restaurant. After four courses our bellies were well and truly full, and we rolled towards the boat to sail back to Punta Sabbioni.
