The next morning we woke up to some lovely sunshine. We got fresh bread from the campsite bakery and over breakfast we thought about what we wanted to do. During that breakfast we were quite bothered by flies. Not that they stung us, but oh, were they annoying. The day before we had had a bit of trouble with them too, but we were mostly hoping it was something temporary.
Our initial plan was to stay here a few more days, so I could show more of the area. But we fairly quickly made the call that this would have to be something for the future. We just couldn’t make friends with those flies, and bad weather was on its way. At the same time we realised that the biggest luxury of our trip is that we can do whatever we feel like at any moment. It wouldn’t mess up our schedule either, because we didn’t have one.
Within an hour we had checked out, and we drove to where we had found sun on the weather app: Lake Garda. For the first time this trip we had switched on the navigation, and 2 hours later we arrived at yet another ACSI card campsite, Camping La Ca.
We had agreed with our good friends from the Netherlands, Joost and Anna, to meet up at Lago Maggiore. They would arrive on 14 October, which gave us a nice week to test our setup properly and to see whether the ideas about the layout of the car that we came up with at home actually made sense.
